Present Indefinite Tense

Syntax (Structure)

Active Voice

                    Subject +verb 1^st form (es/s)+Object.

Example

              I write a letter.

 

Passive Voice

                         Subject+ H/V (is, are, am)+3^rd form of verb +by +Object.

Example

               A letter is written by me.

Implementing (Examples)

Positive Sentences

(1) A/V: He brings the food from Market.

     P/V: The food is brought by him from Market.

(2) A/V: She collects the flock in the hill.

      P/V: The flock is collected by her in the hill.

(3) A/V: They squeeze their clothes.

     P/V: Their clothes are squeezed by them.

(4) A/V: you know him.

     P/V He is known to you.

(5) A/V: Misbah gets marriage Shazia.

     P/V: Shazia got marriage to Misbah.

(6) A/V: The scene surprises us.

       P/V: We are surprised at the scene.

 

Syntax (Structure) Negative

Formula

            A/V: Subject + does/do not + 1^st form of the verb + object.

Note

       Does not use for : He, She , it  singular noun.

Note

        Do not use for: They , we , I , You , Plural noun.

 Formula

           P/V: Subject + H/V (is, are , am) + not + verb 3^rd form + by + object.

Examples

(1) A/V: I do not learn my lesson.

      p/V: My lesson is not learned by me.

(2) A/V: We do not buy new clothes.

     P/V:  New clothes are not bought by us.

(3) A/V: They do not declare the holy war against Neto Forces present in Afghanistan.

     p/V: The holy war is not declared by them against Neto forces present in Afghanistan.

(4) A/V: You do not clean your room.

     P/V: Your room is not cleaned by you.

(5) A/V: She does not cook the rice.

      p/V: The rice is not cooked by her.

(6) A/V: He does not watch the T.V.

      P/V: The T.V is not watched by him.

(7) A/V: Aslam does not speak the truth.

     P/V: The truth is not spoken by Aslam.

 

Syntax (Structure) Interrogative

Formula

            A/V: Does/Do + Subject + verb 1^st form + object?

Note

        Does use for: He, She, it, singular noun.

Note

      DO use for: They, we, I , You plural noun.

Formula

           P/V: Is , are, am + Subject + verb 3^rd form + by +object?

Examples

    (1)   A/V: Does he drink the water?

            P/V: Is water drunk by him?

    (2)   A/V: Does she tell a lie?

            P/V: Is a lie told by her?

    (3)  A/V: Does Shazia win the match?

           P/V : Is the match won by Shazia?

    (4)  A/V: Do they make a noise?

    (5)  A/V: Do you finish your books?

P/V: Are the sweats spilt by me?

  (6) A/V: Do we learn the holy Quran?

    (7) A/V: Do I spilt the sweats?

Formula

A/V: Does/Do + Subject + not + verb 1^st form + object?

Note

       Does + Subject + not + verb 1^st form + object?

          He, She, it Singular noun

Note

        Does + Subject + not + verb 1^st form + object?

          They, we, you, I plural noun.

Formula

        P/V: Are/ is /am + subject + not +verb 3^rd form + by + object?

Examples

(1) A/V: Do they not watch the T.V?

      P/V: Is the T.V not watched by them?

(2) A/V : Does she not bring the water from spring?

      P/V: Is the water not brought by her from spring?

(3) A/V : Does he not polish his shoes?

      P/V:  Are his shoes not polished by him?

(4) A/V: Do you not punish the children?

       P/V: Are the children not punished by you?

(5) A/V: Do we not eat the meal with butter?

       P/v: Is the meal not eaten by us with butter?

(6) A/V: Do I not write a letter?

      P/V: Is a letter not written by me?

(7) A/V: Does Ahmad not switch of the light?

      P/V: Are the lights not switched of by Ahmad?
