Syntax (Structure)

 

Active Voice

                   Subject + was + were + verb 1^st form + ing + object.

 

Syntax (Structure)

 

     Passive Voice

                      Subject + h/v (was + were) + being + 3^rd form + by + object.

 

Implementing (Examples)

 

Positive Sentences

(1) A/V: I was taking the Islamyat period.

     P/V: The Islamyat period was being taken by me.

(2) A/V: We was reading the newspaper.

     P/V: The newspaper was being read by us.

(3)A/V: They was killing the lion in Forest.

    P/V: The lion was being killed by them in Forest.

(4)A/V: The hunters were catching the birds in Net.

    P/V: The birds were being caught by the hunters in Net.

(5) A/V: She was polishing her Shoes.

     P/V: Her shoes were being polished by her.

(6)A/V: You was listening the Radio.

    P/V: The Radio was being listened by you.

(7)A/V: Ahmad was taking a wicket.

   P/V: A wicket was being taken by Ahmad.

 

Syntax (Structure) Negative

 

Formula

      A/V:   Subject + h/v (was + were) + not + verb 1^st form + object.

 

Formula

     P/V:  Subject + h/v(was+ were ) + not + being + verb 3^rd form + object.

 

 Examples

(1) A/V: I was not telling a lie.

   P/V: A lie was not being told by me.

(2) A/V: We were not learning our lesson.

     P/V: Our lesson was not being learned by us.

(3) A/V: She was not watching the T.V.

      P/V: The T.V was not being watched by her.

(4) A/V: He was not reciting the holy Quran.

     P/V: The holy Quran was not being recited by her.

 (5)A/V: They were not writing a letter.

      P/V: A letter was being written by them.

(6) A/V: You were not slaughtering the goat.

      P/V: The goat was not being slaughtered by you.

(7) A/V: The Gardeners were not cutting their crops.

     P/V: Their crops were not cut by Gardeners.

Formula

       Active Voice:  Was/were + subject + being + verb 3^rd form + by + object?

  Passive Voice: Was/were + subject+ being + verb 3^rd form+ by + object?

 

Examples

(1) A/V: Was he reading the newspaper?

     P/V: Was the newspaper being read by him?

(2) A/V: Were they finishing their work?

      P/V: Was their work being finished by them?

(3) A/V: Were we plucking the flowers?

     P/V: Were the flowers being plucked by us?

(4) A/V: Was she eating the meal?

      P/V: Was the meal being eaten by her?

(5) A/V: Was Ahmad taking the Grammar classes?

      P/V: Were the Grammar classes being taken by Ahmad?

(6) A/V: Were you taking exercise?

   P/V: Was exercise being taken by you?

(7) A/V: Was he preparing the tea?

     P/V: Was the tea being prepared by him?

   P/V: was the thief not being arrested by us?
