Syntax (Structure)

 

    Active Voice:

                          Verb 1st form + object

     Passive Voice:

                          Let+ object + be + past participle.

 

Implementing (Examples)

 

(1) A/V:   Carry it home.

     P/V:    Let it be carried home.

(2)A/V:   Open the door.

    P/V:     Let the door be opened.

(3)A/V: Do it at once.

    P/V:  Let it be done at once.

(4) A/V: Throw the ball.

     P/V:  Let the ball be thrown.

(5)A/V:  Learn the poem.

     P/V:  Let the poem be learned.

(6) A/V: Help him.

     P/V:  Let him be helped.

(7) A/V: Finish the job at once.

      P/V:  Let the job be finished at once.

(8)A/V: Close the window.

   P/V:   Let the window be closed.

 

Syntax (Structure) Negative

 

Formula

    A/V:  Don’t + verb 1st form + object.

        P/V:  Let + object + not + be + verb 3rd form.

(1)A/V:  Don’t carry it at home.

    P/V:  Let it not be carried at home.

(2)A/V: Don’t open the door.

    P/V: Let the door not be opened.

(3)A/V: Don’t throw the ball.

    P/V: Let the ball not be thrown.

(4)A/V: Don’t touch it.

    P/V: Let it not be touched.

(5)A/V: Do not beat the dog.

    P/V: Let the dog not be beaten.

(6)A/V: Do not wash the clothes.

    P/V:  Let the clothes not be washed.

(7)A/V: Do not help him.

    P/V: Let him not be helped.
