Noun are generally divided by into seven types.

  • Proper Noun
  • Common Noun
  • Compound Noun
  • Collective Noun
  • Material Noun
  • Abstract Noun
  • Concrete Noun

1  Proper Noun:

                    Proper Noun are those nouns, which refer to particular place, person or things are called Proper Noun.

Note:

Proper Noun are start with capital letter.

3. Compound Noun:

In English Grammar Compound Noun are divided into three types.


1. Open Compound Noun:

                                            Open compound noun are those noun which are writing as two word.


Examples:

         Bus Driver, College Student, ssand School teacher 


2.  Close Compound Noun:

                                            Close Compound Noun are those noun which are writing as one words.


Examples:

                  Classroom, Notebook, Homework, Housewife

 

3 .Hyphenated Compound Noun:

                                               Hyphenated Compound Noun are those noun, which contain Hyphen.


Examples:

                 Brother-in-Law, Sister-in-Law, Father-in-Law

4. Collective Noun:

                                 Collective Noun are those noun, which are singular in form but plural in m meaning.
